The feeling of depression and how sometimes the depressed may seem cold to the world.
Hidden here, I’ll stay inside,
I remember the last time that you cried.
The feeling that came from deep within,
Of wondering when I committed the sin.

You go on now and face the world,
No-more shall I be unfurled.
I’ll stay right here and simply hide,
I can’t face the world outside.

You’ll do just fine you don’t need me,
For only a hindrance could I ever be.
I could never help you here in my shell,
So be ye gone, I wish thee well.

Why do you linger just waiting to feel,
Can’t you see that this pain is real.
It won’t simply leave and go on its way,
It’s here for good; it’s here to stay.

So leave me be and don’t look back,
Keep me up here on this rack.
As with this message from you I depart,
With all my love, sincerely, your heart.
