This gave me much grief. I like some lines but it doesn't quite convey all I want it to
So small, fragile,
More mile upon mile.
Grieving souls of misfortune,
Shadowed eyes reflect a worn moon.
A solution, a cure,
A prevention that they'll endure
I just can’t bear the pain

Hiccuping sobs, rivulets of tears,
anguish and sorrow, hidden in fear.
They know they're alone
Without mother, without home.
Children wander the street
Toddling upon wearied and lonely feet
I just can't bear the pain

It's difficult not to care
These aged innocent eyes
Observing my stare
As the little one cries
In a language I don't understand
A language of distress. I give him my hand.
Because I just can't bear the pain.
