my attempt to explain a heart casting away my gift
The leaves quiver
to a new chameleon change,
flourescent colors of the new ways;
The water ripples dance
as the new thirst
for life is replenished;
and all the while,
the flame,
of which burns through your eyes,
never fades.
A jewel in the sea of torment.

The wind blows
through the windows
with the breath of winter day
lingering as a perfume,
chilling the neck;
The green growth creeps
through the ice and frost set before
towards the globe of rays;
and still frozen
your heart remains,
coated with the indifference
of pains and woes commenced.

Fists beat the wall
unspoken, untouched
as the water withers the earth,
ever falling;
Tempests of natural fright
have thrown the vitals
of life askew;
and still,
the warmth of your touch
burns feebly.

O,Please,
Why do you cast me
so the depth
of the soul dwindles?
Why is it that the steam of your passion,
has no cooling of love?
Why is your person forgotten
and protection of treasure undiscovered?

The vines twine
as thorns thicken.
No sweet scents of roses
immerse the cove;
No lucent star
lends its light
towards the corners of darkness.
Emotions forever bottled
and spirit forever incaged
by ways unseen.
