I wrote this in response to my grandfathers death
I sent flowers today, but its just like any other day. Tomorrow I'll send more, but tomorrow will be just another day. The flowers are for my grandmother, she needed them today. Shes alone and broken, my grandfather died today. He died today, so why is today like any other day? I watched them all cry today but I could not shed a tear. So I bought flowers today and gave them all away. Except one I kept today. The white lily. I will put it on his grave when he is buried and gone. Will that day be just like any other day? Will I dress up in black and look around at all the crying faces and think that this is just another day. Will I place the white lily on his coffin and watch it lowered into the ground tears pouring down my face? Or will I see it and turn away? Will I stay and watch or will I ask to go play today? Because today was just like any other day, except he is gone today.
