A poem about a teenager who has lost a sibling, and regrets not saying what's important.
Something Never Considered.

Something never considered before: I never said I loved you
Apart from, perhaps, when we were so young
But that memory once made me cringe.

How can something so trivial turn into what makes me so blue.
It would’ve been easy, a swish of the tongue
That admission that would make us whinge

But even if I tried to tell you, though this is a mere excuse,
You’d have recoiled in disgust! If I clung
You would go, such was the bitter tinge.

I’d say it now, but it is too late, and I know it would not do
No scream would reach, if it punctured my lung
You’ll not hear how you’ve made my heart singe.
