poem of a mother who loses her heart
On the edge of a cliff
Stands a lonely silhouette
Hands crossed over
A shattered heart
Looking out to sea.

Six years six months
six days since the day,
Her dear son Peter
Had a ship take him away.

He went accross the oceans
Along with many others
Taking her heart,
Essence and soul.

The soldiers did return,
She knew this for a fact,
Even though she waited
Pete was not one to come back.

On the edge of a cliff
Stands a lonely silhouette
Hands crossed over a shattered heart
Gazing out to sea.

Six years six months
Six days since the day,
And the poor shattered heart
dived...and let the sea wash the pain away.
