Attempting to describe myself. Can anyone relate?
Who I Am

I don’t have to think hard,
for I know who I am.
I am a confused teenager,
lost in this big world.
I change my mind a lot,
not always sure of what I want.
I worry about the future;
so unclear, so exciting, so scary.
I have struggled with myself
to find out who I am.
Now I know: I am me.

I am a dreamer,
dreaming that one day I will make a
difference in someone’s life.
I am silly and hyper
but also peaceful and calm.
I giggle and laugh, smile and grin.
I am most calm sitting in a tree
watching the world go by.
I love to lie on the grass and watch clouds go by
or stars twinkle in the sky.
I love the slow moving pace of Texas,
the eloquence of the horses, and the soft screams of the steel guitar.
Also, I love the fast rush of Manhattan
and it’s myriad of people with many stories to tell.

I am a curious person.
What do people think about? What’s their life story?
What goes on in their minds?
While watching the shooting at Columbine,
and learning of the death of friends at school,
I too, thought “What could they be thinking?”

I want to help people,
I want to show them how to enjoy the simple things in life.
I am a hopeless romantic.
I felt like a fairy tale princess
three times in my life.
Twice while wearing a pretty, poufy ballgown.
The third when I found my Prince charming.
I may be a confused teenager, but I know what is real.
I know who I am-
It isn’t hard to figure out.
I am only one person,
kind, unique and happy,
I am me.
