metaphysics of the eye
Eye-drain you saw “Night and Fog,” and the sun
Through stacked Polaroid film.  The brain whispered
What was live or film.

You orifice of soul,
Watching the faucet of hydrogen;
Ecclesiastes burning glory hole of days
Till retinas flame like
Sodom
And the flash--red pupils of hurried photographs…
