Written in answer to a set of poetic prompts.

No Return

His shadowed shackled visage came to mind.

Her dreams like dust, were scattered in the wind.

All the whispers and the lies locked inside,

the screams of her heart stifled by her pride.

Jaded and maligned, the complications

of those underhand insinuations

came crashing down around her brief sojourn.

Drove her along the path of no return.
