A poetic piece about how a simple object can hold so much depth.
I hold you in my hand
and twirl you around
you bring back fond memories
of kindergarden
oh, I miss that innocence
that was a time before the real world had sunk in
when it was ok
to color outside the lines
to be your own person
to make your sky green
and the grass blue
it was ok to have
everything not perfect
I want to go back to that
but I can't
I can only remember childish
things such as how a 52 pack
of Crayolas could change the world
or so I thought
They made my friends smile
If only it was that easy
now

You are purple
light purple
one of my favorite colors
My mind drifts
to other pictures
that were colored so carefully
I snap back to reality
as my cousin asks
what to draw next
with his
52 pack
of
Crayolas

Author's Note:
This was one of those random things! I was trying to go to sleep. It was 9:30 and I was really tired but my thoughts drifted to crayons and it formed a poem in my head. So I wrote it down so I could go to sleep with out worrying about remembering it. Have no idea where it came from, just kinda happened!
