Bonnaroo music festival 2006.
The night has come to a close and in a thunderclap
My life breaks into pieces, floating in the still sky.
And I take Icarus’ path, laid out before me
On the upward journey, all time congeals.

Madness overtakes what was real in seconds,
Snap straight forward into spiraling mob.

And as the authorities incur fines for our silliness,
Lose sight of aspiration replaced by a crazed smile.

Softly whisper to your new friend,

Is it over?

As he grins at nothing, lost in some backroom of his mind.

In closing twilight unravels upon thousands wrapped in apathy,
What will you remember?
