An evening encounter. Placed third in the 55 word contest (round 8).
“Hello,” I said as they approached.

“How are you?” he asked.

“Looks like rain,” she said.

In the stroller slept a child.

The thunder growled. Startled, we smiled and parted ways. They hurried east as I ran west.

When I looked back, his arms covered her back, holding her close.

Plip! Plop! The rain began.
