The last thoughts of a dreamer on a skyscraper
Death of a world by Anthony Knight

on top of glass paradises with my eyes locked on a lonely perfection.
a dreamer’s domicile away from the asylum of reality.
it is on a tower of man that I watch utopia.
surreal civic ocean dispersed beyond my sight.
gaze, not worthy. heart, not ready
settlement of dreamers with caves of mirrors
provoked from kingdoms by animals.
outcastes from ourselves.
self-defeating, self-proclaimed rulers.
contradictory in nature we freedom slaves
nearing only a selfish passing
cries of warring replace our children’s.
a grey horizon and our dystopia lay only vertical.
fantastical sky of wishes clashing with realistic wants
never shall the two meet anymore then a passing thought
jumped into the wind searching for wings
found only stones with the descend to my demise.
gravity takes hold, and I return to the asylums
open eyes close, memories fade.
behold the death of a dream named me
