The story of a secret meeting between two lovers...
Soft Summer Night

The moonlight streams through my open window.

As I listen I hear whippoorwills sing in the shadow.

I see something move upon the mirror clear lake.

My heart leaps; it’s joy and happiness at stake.

Slipping from the house I run with fleet bare feet,

You are the one, my love, I waited to meet.

Your hand reaches out to help me into the boat,

Silently, away from the moonlit dock we float.

I can see the moon dancing upon the dark water.

I feel your arms about me as the boat totters.

Our lips touch and you pull me close.

Over our liquid paradise, the moonlight glows.

Such happiness I feel as we glide side by side.

We forget as light brightens the eastern sky.

Crawling from its eastern bed, sunlight brakes,

Gazes down on us, my, how time did abate.

We are back at the dock, a last, secret kiss

I wait on the night, for it holds such bliss.
