Turning and turning
And fighting to live
Running and running
And never forgive
Spinning, my world is
And always a-side
Bold and confusing
And hurting inside

‘Cause I’m walking on a very crooked path
Where no two turns are ever the same
Nothing can be calculated by any kind of math
And I can’t go back from whence I came

At the end of the day
My mind rolls around inside
Reeling and peeling from the synthetics I hide
My feet are going to talk
The way they always could
Down the sidewalk to follow a new road

Tunnels seem like roads through the sky
When really they are bringing me further down
It all feels like the very first day of summer
When happiness flows through every sound
Times to remember are countless and abound

We watch while we wait
Counting seconds until we feast
And jolly will all of us be
When finally we see what has become
Of the neighbor and his cow next door

They cry with joy
When all are reunited
Because we all are turning
And running from the past
We all are spinning
And to the wind are cast

Turning and turning
And fighting to live

Watch the world turn
Feel the fire burn
Listen to the engine churn
Ne’er a concern

One path leads to another; so strangely they combine
Both came from different directions; here they intertwine

The forest holds the stories of a thousand triumphs
And an equal number of ones who failed
Yet the paths which lead us through the tangled woods
Bears naught but name and direction

The next turn is not to be seen
It could not be deciphered from the past
When walking one bears not triumph nor failure
So strive on until the breath you breathe is your last
