A mother and child, wonder what they're going to eat.
A fatherless home; be alone, or stay and be beat.
A lesson learned, one that she will never repeat.
The baby cries, tired and cold, no money for heat.
Was it her fault, they're struggling now?
She wants out, but she doesn't know how.
A way out, out from under this cloud.
And all along, just wants to make her proud.
