If you had to choose, feel pain or feel nothing, which would you want.

I was running down the hallway, in bare feet, when I ran into a chair.  Being the klutz that I am, I badly bruised my little toe. Boy did that hurt. I felt pain, so, I am alive and functioning, somewhat, on all cylinders.

This is a life lesson we must learn as we grow into adulthood.  As a klutz of many years training, I say a rousing phooey to those who want to be "safe" and "secure" and never feel pain.

If you never feel pain, how will you know happiness?  Personally, I'd rather feel the pain thank you very much. You see, I plan to
live to be at least 100 years old.  After all, I am a very nosy gal
and if I die any sooner, I might miss something interesting.

As a senior ctizen, I always have aches and pains.  I might fuss and fume over having so many, but it is part of life.  As we age, our bodies go through so many changes that it is amazing we can still fumble on in this world. So, if feeling pain is what I need to do to reach my goal of 100 years, so be it.  Bring it on.
