Kansas pain in fall from the sky...and marriage good-bye
AN OCTOBER RAIN

I am tired as rains pour
tired as this pounding begins once more
exhausted and jailed in watery bars of downpour
clicking behind me, the latching of my door;

wind's beating frigid chain.

Downpour, each drop as seconds of together, then
each stormy bead occluded within
expeditions for clarity unrestricted wear me thin
wet and cold, no Kelly dancing and singing in;

this biting Kansas rain.
