So you thought it was something... But it wasn't. It's okay. Nobody's perfect...
Walking down the aisle, left foot in a limp,
Hair up in curls,
Lips coloured of roses,
Fantastic chance, of a dress,
Sweeping around my feet,
A cool spring dawn growing,
Slipping into the night,
A broken bird cradling her wound,
Crying silent atop the trees,
A lonely dog howling to the mountains,
Lost and desperate to find its way home,
A hissing of flame from the candles,
Once more another winged one falls,
A dark shadow upon the path,
Darker than the suit he wears,
Bright white flowers lose their luster,
And I'm left with wilting, quiet stems,
The commotion is rising, silence broken,
It seems they don't want to except this,
What shall we do now?
So the dress is too pretty,
The curls are too much,
My lips seem too desperate,
And I've been here since dawn,
The bird is in such pain,
The dog is in loneliness,
The candles may be furious,
They're still better than what I've got,
The road is long gone,
And I knew that suit was too much,
This bouquet is starting to wither,
Their petals fall one by one,
The people are complaining,
They say we're taking up time,
Granted, the dog and bird and fly is more interesting,
Than the insecurity in your words,
But hey, what do they know?
So my dress is a bit fancy,
Your tux is too showy,
And our time has long past,
Hey, what am I supposed to do?
I'm not that perfect you know,
But we're still here in our place,
Still talking and delaying,
Your fears bore me to death,
And I really do want to go,
But you truly intrigue me,
Your kindness in your eyes,
If there's one thing you're not,
It's perfect,
But I like that that's the way you are,
So what are they complaining about,
And my foot's starting to hurt,
Nobody's perfect, you know,
And that includes you.
