Lorelei a Rhine Maiden luring navigators to th river and dooms with her alluring singing
~Fain Be Th’ Wild Lorelei~

~*~
A maiden fair of golden tress;
trumpets roar, th’ calling wild,
Awaits th’ boatman’s attest,
of Lorelei's glistened guile.
~*~
For when they learn her murmuring,
'pon her trance wild song beckons.
Nev’r ‘twill depart her howling,
his bosom of love reckons.
~*~
Th’ torrid winds advent th’ night,
for his gentle eyes she kissed.
Her lovely goddess sits on High,
alluring th’ ev’n mist.
~*~
Streamlet vapors languid her bay,
echoes ‘mid th’ ev’nsong.
Whenas th’ lilt, sea-nymph doth sway.
beware her pious, faint throng;
~*~
Her medley doth toll th’ somber moon,
'pon her soft, fainthearted, lovers tune.
