for B.A.R.
You set your face in cynical lines

         seen too much
         of the world
         and it all disappointed

You claim to be evil
like that makes you special

but we have all hunted, killed
We are monsters deep down
when the skin is scraped away
on sharp bits of emotion

         almost awake
         in the taste
         of other people’s tears

I can see your words -
a big black ribbon stretched
between us, violent

Feel my truth crawl over
your skin like insects
or the buzz of electric currents

Breathe in this power,
choke on it

as fear settles in your belly,
low and real
and your face cracks – disappointed
