A vision of history
I see the agony in your eyes
The slump in your back dictates hardship
Eye bags indicating the pain you’ve seen
I slowly think about the many days
You suffered due to the upbringing of others
The powerful veins in your hands
From all the stressful days
Of walking with a cane
I see the agony in your eyes
And I cry for you and the life
You led in 1922
