I loved my lunch box!
I CARRIED ME, PLAID

I carried metal
by a plastic handle
Swinging metal
on a metal hinge
Bright blue Roys
and rainbow Disneys
Guarding my apples
again and again

I carried myself
by gloss black plastic
Carried me, plaid,
in a plaid lunchbox
That hung at my side
full of small apples
That slid in my mind
down snow-covered blocks
