A poem I wrote about going through a period of depression
BACK ON TRACK

Every day the birds sing for us
But I never heard the dawn chorus
I never noticed the flowers
While wishing away the hours

I didn't see the rainbow
The black clouds wouldn't go
The sun never shone
But now that is gone

I couldn't see a solution
To my despair and confusion
But now it seems
They were only bad dreams

Life is full of ups and downs
Laughter, smiles and sometimes frowns
In an instant we can turn around
And happiness can be found

I came out of this deep depression
And learned a valuable lesson
Don't let someone break your heart
Walk away and make a new start

You gave me support
But I never thought
I would never go back
And get back on track
