A poem I wrote to a friend in troubled times.
A FRIEND INDEED

The dark days you've been through,
I was thinking of you.
You fought the fight,
Now you're back in the light.

Don't go back down,
Don't fall in and drown.
But if you do, I'll be here,
To pick you up, have no fear.

You always bring in the sun,
With your laughter and fun.
Even when it's dull and grey,
You brighten up the day.

Others need you but take care,
For you, would they be there?
Sort out friend from foe,
And your heart will soon glow.

You've been there for me,
And you could see,
I would pay the price,
And gave me your advice.

Don't give too much away,
You may need it someday.
Set yourself a goal,
Not to drain your soul.

Use your head but don't lose heart,
Everyone can make a new start.
You'll find some don't listen,
So don't give up your ambition.

Stay cool and go with the flow,
You will recover and grow.
In your heart there'll be room,
For you to return to full bloom.
