On being misunderstood
No you don’t see
what you think you see
Even though I remind you
time and again.
Don’t look for me
I’ll hide and say
that you didn’t look
hard enough
anyway.

What’s over there
on the other side?
Look again
you can’t possibly see .
I know you and
I think you can’t give me
the mercy
that I need
anyway.

Have you gone
again?
I don’t remember
who you were
the last time
we met.
We just pretend
it was nothing
anyway.

You turn away
and I’m not there.
When I don’t answer
you seek me out.
Quietly waiting
to learn
my intentions.
You pretend
it means nothing
anyway.
