Coping with death.
Away

How many a'way
could your love for me
have grown anymore
have left me to be
so small

You were my shining
bright light to behold
to stroke in the dark
to weather the cold
for me

You lifted me up
and sang me a song
of a future with hope
you sang it so long
e'er sweet

Yet now that you're gone
the world's monotone
the colors dried up
my life monochrome
and gone

I look back and think
of all our good times
of the life we shared
of your love and mine
such joy

But why don't I feel
the warmth on my cheeks
sand between my toes
the hot summer breeze
so free

I guess time will show
what my mind did fail
why you had to die
why you had to sail
away
