A poem I wrote about a special friend.
YOU AND ME

That we have met,
was meant to be,
timing may be wrong,
but that's you and me.

We are friends now,
although in life we met late,
our paths have crossed,
that we should celebrate.

If we'd taken a different route,
ships that pass in the night,
missed eachother completely,
and never caught sight.

Looking out for one another,
being there to care,
likes and dislikes,
many we share.

At all times of the day,
our minds are in tune,
know what we are thinking,
morning and afternoon.

Things we have in common,
we are in ways alike,
share the same outlook,
on this changeable life.

We help eachother at all times,
during the highs and lows,
If we'd have met earlier,
what might have been, who knows?

I'll always be your friend,
that means a lot,
maybe that's not enough,
but that's all I've got.

It hasn't been easy,
being around for you,
can't give you what you want,
you know that is true.

I can only give what I have,
there's no space for more,
sometimes I wish there was,
that's true for sure.

A true friend you are,
you will always be,
and I hope you've found,
a true friend in me.
