Battling through drug addiction
Alone sat silent
Beneath the clouds of doom overshadowing the future
Clouds created by yourself
Shading the realism of your subconcious
Disorientated and shaking
The cleansing begins
sneezing
sweating
overpowering hunger
Acompanied by a crippling cramping of the stomach,
The heavy tired aching of limbs
The beginning is now
The end a distant horizon along the continous winding road
Frosted and cold the journey continues
Eyesight obscured by the hurtling reality
Confusing croossroads
positive
negative
sobriety
substances
The steps hesitant and slow
Four weeks clean
Still battling to survive

A chill down the spine, sweat on the back
Pulse rate quickening as the heart begins to race
An exciting sickening inside as the stomach twists and contorts
Mind darting back and forth
Analysing future scenarios
An icy grip has taken hold
You thought the battle was over
Its been weeks since
But this is not just one struggle
Sadly this is a war
Sanity and addiction have taken up arms
In a fight to the death
And in this war of attrition
The tour of duty will never end
