A digruntled boy lives a boring almost completly uneventfull life untill...
It was a bright and sunny day. A day any one else would be out and enjoying the
greatness of life. But not young Kouhei.
The young man stood furiously, another night of no sleeping. After hours of lying
on his back staring at the ceiling he'd gotten more annoyed than tired. Fighting to think
of somthing to do he angrily began scouring the already spotless house for dishes maybe
forgotten the restless night before.
He stood in front of the sink and sighed getting angrier by the moment. He stomped
to the couch and plopped down making the pillows fall off to the hard floor. He pulled
at one of the strands of hair hanging in his face, bored. He stood frustrated, "Auugh! I'm
so bored!" He imagined his neighbour as he yelled this. Glaring at his house saying things
about him. He scoffed kicking the floor.
Knock! Knock! The door was banged on loudly causing Kouhei to snap out of his
thoughts. He stepped forward to go anwer but stepped on one of the pillows that had fallen
earlier. His foot slid from under him making him fall. As he tried to catch himself he only
grabbed the cloth on the coffee table pulling it down with him. He landed hard on his back
knocking his breath out of him. He let his arm down not noticing he still held the cloth,
causing the contents of the table to fall on him, incuding a heavy vase. He opened his eyes
just in time to see it fall,on his head. He flinched as he went to sit up papers falling off his
torso. Knock! Knock! The person rapped the door again. Angrily Kouhei yelled to them,
"Hold yur horses! I'm comin."
He went and opened the door only to get angrier. There stood a church nut, One those
crazy guys that come to your house at five in the morning and tell you about their church.
As the older man started to ramble about his church Kouhei gave him a blank cold stare to
wait for him to shut up. The man looked up from his book to Kouhei and stopped dead,
either because the stare he was recieving or perhaps the blood that trickled down his
forehead as he glared.
"Are you, okay?" the man asked with and look on his face pointing at the boys
bleeding head. Kouhei reached to his forehead and inwardly laughed, feeling the blood. He
smiled evily to the church goer.
"Oh, this isn't mine." He stated brushing some of the blood onto his finger showing it
to the man smiling even more. He could see the gears working in the mans brain and slowly
a false relization hit the holy man. Kouhei licked the blood off his finger trying not to bust
out laughing at the stupified face the man was making.
"Eh, you seem busy," The man forced a grin that was all but true,"I'll uh, see you later
then." He quickly turned and ran off.
Kouhei waited utill the man was out of sight and laughed almost loudly. If only the
neighbours had seen that, they'd never bother him again. He turned back to his house and
frowned putting a hand to his head, sighing, He'll be back next weekend with another guy,
as usual. Sighing deeply again he walked back into the house not bothering to lock the door.
He picked every thing up that had fallen on him earlier along with the vase and
pillows. He sat on the couch turning on the television. Flipping through the channels he
felt his eyes getting heavier and his mind got hazier. Must be because I haven't slep't in
a few nights. He thought to himself. His head ached as he began to doze and he realized
he had forgotten to clean his face up. He stood wavering a little, spots dancing in front of
his eyes, he made his way to the bathroom slowly. The ground seemed to move as he walked.
He reached the bathroom sink and held onto it for support as his legs had grown weak.
"Maybe I hit my head harder than I thought." He grimaced at his reflection. Aside from
the big mess of blood and bruise above the space between his eyes, he was normal. His long
brown red hair tied neatly back in a ponytail, though two seperate strands always fell in his
face. His skin was pale as usual and both his ears peirced twice with small black studs. His
skinny body always making him look anorexic. Though his bright emerald eyes seemed to
shine less as the days passed they looked quite bad today with the dark shadows around them.
Using one arm to hold himself up he used the other to slash the now free running water
on his face. He winced a bit as the stinging sensation spread through his forehead. The watered
down blood ran into the sink in a spiral of clear and lighter red. As he watched the water and
blood go down the drain the room spun and he lost his grip on the sink. He sunk to his knees
and put his hands on the floor keeping himself upright as the room spun more violently.
"Crud," He felt himself sag to the right. Unable to stay up he let himself fall, being sure
not to hit his head again. His head was pounding, or was that, the door? Sure enough someone
was at the door.
"If that d-damn priest is,here again," He said more feebly than he wanted to trying not to
pass out. The knocking on the door continued, as Kouhei heard a voice call. The voice was from
the person at the door. His vision went white and he squeezed his eyes shut, they kept calling
his name yet the voice wasn't familiar to him. But now that didn't matter,he began to fade out as
the last things heard came closer. The click of the door opening and the person calling his name,
sounding more and more deserate the closer they came.
"Kouhei? Kouhei!"

Yuichi knocked at the door calling Kouhei's name. There was no answer as a bad feeling began to
rise in the pit of his stomach. He called for his classmate again. He tried the door and found it
unlocked. Walking in he looked around he was astonished at how clean it was, but was to worried
pay close attention. He looked over the living area to the kitchen then the hall. As he began to
walk down the hall noticed the bathroom door open.
"Kouhei?" he called fearing what he might find; Kouhei always did look like the depressed
one. Yuichi turned to the doorway and gasped.
"Kouhei!" Kouhei layed there collapsed, his face wet, his forehead bruised and slightly
bloodied. Yuichi went to his knees beside him not knowing what to do. He pulled Kouhei onto
his side and turned looking for a towel or rag of some type.
"Urh," Kouhei sturred furrowing his brow. Yuichi looked back at him.
"Kouhei, are you okay?" He said trying not to sound too scared.
"Whu-? W-why er' you in m' house?" Kouhei said groggily, his mind to hazy to speak properly.
Yuichi paused for a second, nearly wanting to laugh at Kouhei's drunken like behavior,"Do I need
to call an ambulance?"
"NO." Kouhei said so sternly he seemed to come out of his stupor, yet his eyes were still only
half opened.
"But," Yuichi protested knowing something had to be done,"but you're hurt." Kouhei did
nothing for a minute, then he slowlly lifted his arm to his head. He gingerly put his hand over his
bruise and fliched remembering.
"Stupid v-vase,"
Yuichi recalled seeing a vase on the table, the only thing that wasn't on the tablecloth. 'That
fell on his head? No wonder.' he thought to himself.
"Eh, let me help you up," He said moving forward as Kouhei tried to get to a sitting position.
Kouhei pushed his hands away sitting on his own.
"W-would you turn off the water. Erg," he hung his head putting his hands back up to his
injury. Yuichi turned the water off and quickly turned back to Kouhei not wanting the boy to get
hurt again.

'Who is this guy?' Kouhei thought as he regained more of his functioning. He tried to stand
but could barely move an inch. He was angered that his body rejected his orders and his brain was
fogged making it nearly impossible to think straight. It was embarrassing being so helpless.
The intruder seemed to want to help him though. That something he wasn't too keen on, or
wouldn't have been if his head wasn't so jumbled. The next time the boy offered his help Kouhei
didn't push him away. He wanted off the cold bathroom floor badly enough to accept him. The
intruder put Kouhei's arm over his own shoulder and helped him walk to the livingroom. As they
slowly made there way to the couch the room began to spin again. Kouhei squeezed his eyes shut
hoping the spinning would leave him. He was sat down on the couch.
"Kouhei are you okay?" The boy asked worriedly. Kouhei put his hands over his face feeling
faint again. 'Not again' He thought to himself angrily. The world was fading as it had done earlier.
He started to fall over when hands caught his shoulders as he passed out.

Yuichi caught Kouhei's shoulders and carefully layed him down.'This isn't just from that head
injury' he thought feeling less worried as he fully noticed the boy's face and frame. The dark circles
under his eyes and his clearly too thin stomach.
"When he wakes up he'll need to eat, first though, something for that bump..." He wondered to
the bathroom not wanting to snoop any where and searched for the first aid kit. Luckly like most
people Kouhei kept it under the sink. He smiled and tended to Kouhei. When he finished he walked
into the kitchen and prepared a nice large dinner. After finishing he covered every thing, he expected
Kouhei wasn't going to wake for at least a couple hours, and left a note next to him. Checking once
more everything was clean and orderly again he left making sure to lock the door behind him. 'He
really needs someone to look over him'

Kouhei awoke with a start, slowly remembering what had happened. He looked around the
dark room, half expecting someone to be there. He sat up reaching a hand to his forehead, finding
a bandaid had been placed there. Turning to sit correctly he noticed a sheet of paper lying on the
coffee table beside him. He picked it up and read the note.
'Kouhei,
'Sorry that I didn't cover you, but I couldn't find the blankets. Any way I had come over to give you
your school work from Friday since you were absent so I left it on the table. Also you seem to have
not eaten in a while so I made you some dinner(hope you don't mind)I put that on the table as well.
Don't worry I cleaned everything up and I didn't poison anything. Take care!
Yuichi'

Kouhei made a face at the odd doodles on the paper, then looked to the kitchen table. There were
a few papers in a small stack and an assortment of dishes, quite a few platters of food indeed. He stood,
still holding the letter in his hands and with his mouth agape noticed how good the food looked. Heat
rose to his cheeks without him realizing it, he truely hadn't eaten in a while.
