Up in smoke
By Denyse

I thought he loved me
I thought he wanted to be with me
He said he loved me.
Only to deceive me
He said that I was all that he had found
Yet each and every time he wasn’t around
He said he got hurt
He got lost
Some one was after him
All he did was fight
Where did he go this lover of mine
Was there a wife, a child, and another guy?
Desolate, hungry and broke
Where did it all go?
They should have warned me that he’s sick
The should have told me that a lie does the trick
They should have told me that all I did was in vain
The cost of love
To share a name
In the end it would all go up in smoke
At least that is what he told me the day I found out he’s on dope.
