This is my first poem.
Don’t look at me, please.
What you see isn't me.
Don’t try me with those eyes
You can't see past these lies.

I’m lost and burdened
a drifting soul
that no one can take care of
you touched me then
but now you’re gone
and I’m nothing without that touch

but can’t you see
that what I need
isn’t approbation?
I want acceptance
deep and true
but not a presentation

and I’ve lost truth
inside of me
and none showed me the way
‘cause when I lie
to you and smile

You lie back
