This poem is about finding a way to get up when you fall down.
Heaven help this pain I feel, I can't take it anymore.
Lock these mangled emotions up tight.
Throw away the key to the closed door.

Close these windows to my soul.
No one should have to see my pain.
Board up this dilapidated house, I want my shame hidden away.

Tear down these broken walls.
The holes can never be filled.
Rip out these shattered dreams, too much damage has been done to rebuild.

Leave this cold, broken heart in the lonely place that it lay.
Take this empty past and from it make a new day.

Give this wounded spirit something to ease the pain.
Help it see there's something out there, there's always hope to gain.

Clear out these sad memories.
They've only brought me tears.
Don't forget the lost love I've known, it's instilled all of my fears.

Now all that's left is a broken, empty frame.
A skinless, tired skeleton where everything has begun to fade.

The only things to be kept are the inspirations I have known.
With the ones who kept me going, I'll build a new place to call Home.
