Sometimes you can offer a hand only to be slapped in the face.
Give this heart away
to keep your vanity alive.
Watch your disgust at the truth,
as you cater to the lies.
Stumbling in this darkness now,
it's the world you don't see.
Here you are falling so far down
to become who you never wanted to be.

A chance at having everything,
you choose to cast me aside.
I'm left here reelng from it all,
while you can't see past your pride.
As I sit offering you my hand,
you reach out to slap me in the face.
Telling me I know nothing about you,
this love can be replaced.

Does loving you for you
mean nothing after all this time?
Or would you trade the truth for someone fake?
Someone who will love the lie?
