A look at the today and the past.
I walked unaided
Down the desolate lane

A glimpse of a dewy heaven
A flash of the ancient times

My existence awakened indolent minds
My reasoning was not for them to know

It was a pondered idea a type of crossroad
Of the times of yore and modern reality

Although they knew nothing of our ways
Jealousy never prevailed - instead sympathy

What had befallen a careless mankind?
They knew not and curiosity never entailed

Their rejoiced souls rest satisfied
Their conscience inquired not

I turned back saddened by the present
I had to return though my spirit longed to stay

Backwards to what has been completed
Backwards to an enforced obliteration

I walked unaided
Down the desolate lane
