Freestyle poem
We once were-but are no more-
heroes in the eyes of a child-
heroes that could fix all things.

Dad, It broke- can you fix it?
Sure honey-it’ll only take a little glue-
by tomorrow
it should be good as new.

All too quickly they find us out-
dads can’t fix everything-
and heroes all have feet of clay.

It’s easy to fix a broken toy-
can a father mend a broken heart?
It takes more than a little glue-
and good as new tomorrow-
just doesn’t do.
