A Ghazal. My first attempt at one!
Throughout the years I've missed your smile.
So much so that I do not smile.

You left this earth with quiet ease
With on your face a content smile.

You understood your time had come
You left for me just your faint smile.

I could not accept your wise words
I kept deep sorrow, did not smile.

But on the day that you left me
Exactly five years, with that smile -

I heard you like a whisper soft
"Why not hear me? Why don't you smile?"

And then I understood the words
I closed my eyes and yes - I smile.
