I just have moved to New York City, the big apple. The is the inspiration for this poem.
A New Yorker

Coming to a world I did not belong in.
Seeing what I did,
Through the new eyes of an old woman.
People, places things that I knew not
Learning to adapt,
To become what I see.
To survive,
To believe in what I know to be true.
It is just like a dream,
This Alice in wonderland feeling,
All walks of life in one symmetry of motion,
One unique motion of life,
Flowing,
Manifesting  life.
Falling further and further down the rabbit hole,
Why oh why did I take that reality pill?
All walks of life around me,
Teaching me,
Molding me into what the city is designed for,
That is why I took the pill,
For in my heart,
I Am A True New Yorker.
