A poem on abuse experience
I look to find the door behind
The mantel tops the fireplace.
I seek to climb the giant vine
The monster has a monkey face.

I plead the hand a bully bides
A key has locked a hidden place.
I ask to see the other kind
The sewer keeps the water safe.

I touch the ankles touch the sky
The floor sits over knots of lace.
I knock on doors that stand in line
The dealer flips the king’s last ace
