This is a relatively new poem I've written.
I can’t say all these thoughts swarming in my mind
Like a hive of angry bees.
I can’t describe what I see
When I look at the world.
Words,
Paint,
Or pencils aren’t enough to
Accurately show you what I see,
What I think,
What I feel.
There’s no color to describe or show the color of
My beloved’s eyes.
There’s no word to adequately tell you
What a sweet Gala apple tastes like to me.
And there aren’t nearly enough words,
Or paint,
To properly tell you how I feel,
Or show you the world inside my head.
The colors there…
Are non-existent in the real world.
How can one find words to describe
The indescribable?
Maybe by using metaphors,
Or similes,
Or personification,
You could get the idea.
But it still leaves one wanting more…
It isn’t enough to just get the idea.
I wish there was a way to show you
What I see,
What’s in my mind racing towards the surface
Everyday.
Someday,
Maybe,
There will be a time when I can show,
not just one person,
but the world,
my world.
And by being a poet,
I can look for,
Find,
Even create,
Some new ways of painting
With words.
