Appreciation of a lover.
As the sun starts to slide down in the west,
The seabirds all return home to their nests;

Your tender feet slide across the moss covered jetty,
You reach for my hand so you can climb more steady;

Your eyes grow brighter than the pearly white sea shells,
In my gaze I see they are prettier than the shiny ocean swells;

Our footprints leave a telltale sign in the sand as we stroll,
As we enter that special time of day we call nightfall;

We both look up at the first star of the night and make our wish,
The only sound that can be heard in the still air are dancing bluefish;

The surf rolls in on us and fills up to our knees,
Clearing off the broken mollusks and chasing away the sand fleas;

Soft golden hair upon tanned shoulders that dance in the breeze,
You stand before me a scenic beauty united with the seas;

It is no wonder that you can quench all of my silly pathetic craves,
As they seem so trivial now while we stand here together in these ocean waves.
