There is something inside me that wants what you have...

[Seven Deadly Sins Contest - 'Greed']
---

It was the heat that caused me to see what I was.
Something I never wanted to be but it came to me continually.
Inside of me it groaned and grew feverishly, relentlessly.

I couldn’t control what I now sorrowfully felt.
As the urges inside me tightened like a belt.
My mind raced with thoughts and feelings.
It tugged at my heart with pains and dealings.

Why could it hurt so much to me?
All I wanted was elation and glee.
I never meant to take what I didn’t possess.
But I had to have it, yours, and all the rest.

So don’t judge me or stare at me for what I know.
For tomorrow I’ll want again and tomorrow I’ll show.
Hold your possessions, oh yes, hold them tight.
I’m coming to you, to take them and to fight.

My feelings are dirty and crooked, yes indeed.
I’m a dastardly twisted soul battling greed.
