Escaping the lake of fire

Keeper Of The Lights

If I should fall
into the deep
and hear the call
as angels weep.

From Satan's stew
raise me higher,
into God's view,
from lake of fire.

May I return
to light the lights
that always burn
through darkest nights.

Then standing guard
at Heaven's gates,
an aging bard
will hesitate.

But even then
as Satan's nigh
I'll hold again
God's light up high.
