What happens when you sacrifice your dreams for his?
There's a hope chest in the attic
That she once filled with all her dreams.
Stars that seemed within her reach
Line the inside seams.

Words of love and loss,
Written on endless pages,
Have since turned yellow and gathered dust;
Unspoken through the ages.

Sometimes she'll climb the stairs,
On those days she's feeling spry.
And that is where he'll find her,
Among the dust to cry.

She's old and half-forgotten,
Like those papers in her hands.
But why she goes to torture herself,
He'll never understand.

Once, she dreamed beyond the stars;
She had no limits or fears.
But now she's just a lonely old woman
With only her memories and tears.
