the need for the familiar
That old blanket
200710.29

In the emptiness of the moment, as the chill creeps up on me
The silence of completion, cries to the rage that used to be
How do I explain the need to withdraw from the light?
The trembling of my fist, the knuckles turning white
From the closet of emotions, that old blanket again unfolds
Against the world’s onslaught, its comfort I tightly hold
Deep with-in the blanket; I no longer need to feel
Give up on hope, that all seem to want to steal
Comfortable in its darkness, you can not hear tears fall
With-in that old dark blanket, I feel nothing at all
