A Petrarchan Sonnet about the lies of life, and why standing still matters most.
My soul lies in absolute confusion
In ignorance, I am ripped apart,
as the blade of doubt penetrates my heart.
It seems as though everything is fiction.

In this lawless world of fabrication,
I learned that lending trust has been made hard.
All things come and go as fast as the dart,
and there is nothing but mere deception.

But I have not given up dearest faith,
so I go on seeking the light of hope,
and lo, my heart sees the smile of the Lord.

To experience truth now is not too late.
Though I have been at the edge of the rope,
bliss, and life's sweet lies I can now afford.
