The road of life must be traversed, though hard it be.
THE ROAD OF LIFE: a sonnet—Editor’s choice

The road of life is stony and twisted,
With many a barrier and pitfall.
Many addresses I have got listed,
Which I must visit before I do fall.

It’s easy for me not to do errands
And seek solace basking in the sunshine.
For none I have to make any amends.
With my pleasure, pain I need not combine.

But shall I, resting, waste the life I’ve got?
Should I exert, that someone else may rest?
Shall noble intentions lie unused, rot?
Should I, by my actions, put them to test?

Good intentions alone are not enough.
We must pursue the road of life, though rough.
