Potential poems/rhymes for a modern day life and living, coffee table book.
Online gaming, slot machines,
flashing lights , hopeful dreams.
Money going nowhere,
not that I had it to spare.
Yet another addiction,
for my personality affliction.

I know sometimes I win,
on the odd reel spin.
The winnings I spend again too,
hoping for a jackpot—it’s due.
The top prize is never enough,
for I spend it again—how rough.

Inside a lonely feeling,
hiding what gambling is stealing.
My problem I cannot share,
the embarrassment, unable to bare.
Will anyone understand,
it’s not what I had planned.

I must seek help now,
to quit and quit, I vow.
