The loss of a beloved dog.
** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

I love you
is for the here and now.

That night was the last
I love you
along with my bestowed affection.

You knew,
but what harm could it do
to show you how much
I cared.

We bonded
with our first greeting.

You gave me your affection,
and in return
I gave you friendship and
an equal love.

That day was neverending,
and the house was
empty and silent.

The only time I wished
never to return home,
but work was not an escape, either.

My thoughts wandered
of all the good times
and even some of the bad
we have shared.

I feel you,
even now reminding me
that you're fine.

I felt you that day
lying beside my chair
while I toiled incessantly.

I felt you
as I wept into my pillows,
sitting there
reassuring me.

A broken heart
will need time to mend,
but I know you're happy
and wonder what you're doing now.

I miss you
is for when you're gone.

I will not say goodbye
instead until we meet again
I will miss you.
