Contest poem about missing family after Thanksgiving.
So long ago it seems
Since I've seen the people of my dreams
My family sitting all together

As we sit around the meal
I can instantly just feel
Everybody wishing it could last forever

But push has come to shove
Because I'm wishing all the love
Would stay with me beyond the table

Although they're all set free
I feel their presence still in me
As if it were all out of a fable

Getting together with our kin
Giving thanks for the position we are in
Is for living, laughing, and for play

It's not for later feeling sad
Or missing the connections that you had
So I now love Thanksgiving Day
